The problems are not always present, nor do they occur everywhere to the same extent. But their existence is reason for natural stone companies and sector associations to take action to prevent them.
Implementing the code of conduct in supply chain
About 20 Dutch, Belgium, English and Scandinavian companies, have already endorsed the code of conduct in cooperation with their suppliers.Importers together with their suppliers use the code of conduct to identify and address sustainability issues. If needed, these issues will be tackled in a realistic step-by-step approach. The Working Group supports European companies who want to implement the code of conduct in its supply chain. In India and shortly in China, the working group works together with experienced local experts and auditors to assure the best support on the spot.
